Sometimes the exact place you never wanted to return to, becomes the place that saves you.. Pt 1

I didn’t realise how burnt out I truly was until I had no choice but to leave everything behind

Parenting through crisis after crisis had broken me in ways I can’t explain

And moving back to the one place I never wanted to return to became the beginning of my healing

Leaving my home the sunshine, the beach, the sand, the mountains wasn’t a decision I was going to make lightly.

The very thought of it made my skin crawl

But deep down my husband and I both knew something needed to change

Parenting through crisis after crisis had taken its toll

I was exhausted, burnt out, emotionally shattered and my nervous system was stuck in constant fight/ flight. I honestly didn’t know how much more I could carry mentally, emotionally and physically

One of my biggest worries was my youngest son

He was going from having an entire support team around him to almost nothing. While we could still access some appointments online, I knew long term it wouldn’t be enough for what he truly needed

But staying where we were was slowly destroying us too

So reluctantly, I made the decision to move

Slowly I started packing the house up by myself and unknowingly that’s where the healing quietly began

With every box packed, tears followed

Tears for every version of me that had survived so much over the years

Every stage of motherhood

Every crisis

Every heartbreak

Every moment I kept pushing through when I really needed someone to hold me

And maybe for the first time in a very long time

I stopped

I thought moving back to the place that held so much trauma would break me

But I had no idea it was actually the beginning of my healing

Pt 2 coming soon
